EVERY AMAZING FINALE OUTFIT WORN BY DRAG RACE WINNERS

At Pour Moi, we are BIG fans of the reality show Ru Paul’s Drag Race. The costumes, comedy and drama that the queens bring is simply fabulous! We love that drag can help people feel their most confident and empowered, after all that’s how we hope our lingerie makes our customers feel – sensational and sexy in the skin you’re in.

With Lawrence Chaney and Symone’s recent wins fresh in our memories, we have been inspired to celebrate the fantastic fashion worn by the queens on the show.  We have collated all of the outfits worn by the winners when they were officially crowned, for every series produced so far in the USA, UK, Canada, Netherlands, Thailand and All Star seasons.

Whilst Bianca Del Rio designed the dress she was crowned in herself, many of the other queens turned to specialist designers for their winning outfits. Violet Chachki’s dripping purple jewel number was created by Anthony Ladd Canney (House of Canney).

Bob the Drag Queen’s golden fantasy was created by Domino Couture. Sasha Velour’s iconic ‘futuristic egg’ mask and ice queen dress were the creations of Diego Montoya. Aquaria’s kinky black latex crowning outfit was by Florence D’Lee, as was Shea Couleé’s magical blue All-Star gown.

The multi-head effect goddess headdress that Yvie wore in the final was designed by Darrell Thorne, and the seeing eye dress by Kristi Siedow-Thompson. The geometric orange laser-cut spectacular wing-dress worn by Jaida Essence Hall was the work of Joshuan Aponte Designs.

All of the outfits worn by Chad Michales were designed and handmade by his partner of nine years Adam McGee. Alaska’s sparkly gold gown was by feel drag artist Rapunzel.

The first UK winner, The Vivienne’s, fancy frock was the work of Miller & Mckew, and the most recent UK winner, Lawrence Chaney’s, retro drag race number was from Get Frocked.

The sensational coronation outfit worn by Priyanka was designed by Matthew Jewson, and Envy Peru’s crowning outfit was from Bjorn Van Den Berg.

We were also curious to see which contestant from the show is Googled the most in each state to find out who is the USA’s favourite queen of drag race!

The Most Googled Ru Paul Drag Race Queens in Every State

The winners of Ru Paul’s Drag Race have a fantastic legacy, but some of the queens who didn’t win the show are arguably just as famous.

To reveal which drag queen from Ru Paul’s Drag Race is currently the most popular in the USA, we looked at the number of Google searches in the last 12 months for all of the contestants from all USA, UK, Thailand, Canada and Netherlands seasons.

Trixie Mattel Is A Global Superstar

Trixie Mattel is the most Googled contestant in the USA, being searched for more than any other contestant in any state. Trixie Mattel has been werking hard since her time on the show, with a Wikipedia entry that not only lists her as a drag queen, but also as a singer-songwriter, comedian, author, actor, entrepreneur and all-round TV personality. Trixie appeared on 2015’s season 7 of the franchise, where she came 6th (coming back into the competition in the Conjoined Twins episode after originally going out in 11th place). Since then, she’s released three studio albums, a viral YouTube series turned TV show with fellow contestant Katya Zamolodchikova, co-authored a book with Katya, launched her own make-up line Trixie Cosmetics, and returned to the Ru Paul franchise to compete in All Star’s season 3, which she went on to win. With so much going on in in so many industries, it’s clear to see why Trixie is the most searched for drag race contestant – even six years after she first went on the show!

The second most Googled contestant last year in the USA was Chi Chi Devayne, whose untimely death in 2020 was mourned greatly by the drag community. Google searches came in high volumes across the world last year as fans wanted to find out more about the life and death of the charismatic queen from Shreveport, Louisiana.

The third most Googled drag queen from Ru Paul’s Drag Race, in the USA, is Carmen Carrera. Carmen appeared on season 3 of the franchise and since then has made many more TV appearances and been active in AIDS and transgender awareness and activism.

Other popular queens that people want to find out more about online include Alyssa Edwards, Bianca del Rio, Jujubee and Sharon Needles.
